Who got in on the purpleheart and Nichols Galactic Bacon stainless damascus/MagnaCut annuals this year?

I have no idea how, but somehow after 12 minutes of spinning loading circles on literally every page of checkout, having to remove the Large 31 from my cart after it went out of stock, and after the Small 31 no longer showed up on the New Products page... I somehow managed to check out with a damascus Small 31 annual.

The Galactic Bacon looks so good.

I went whole hog and was trying for the same thing, but GPK, while a great dealer, clearly isn't on the same level as DLT for kraken-level releases in terms of their IT vendors. My credit card is glad for the $1k hit instead of $2k though.

I honestly am not a huge CRK collector, but the damascus and purpleheart was just such a great combination.
 
No bacon for me either. Buffering for over 10 minutes while others were checking out lol.
Then when it reached time to pay I got the all out of stock message.
Got to love poor servers.

I think I noticed a 2003 or 2004 Annual in decent condition for $2700 or so here on the forum. Not sure if it sold. It was BEAUTIFUL though.

I picked up the small magnacut, was a pain checking out but eventually went though. Looking forward to seeing the inlay! I’m surprised the large is still in stock, last year the small was the last to go.

I wasn't really sold on the MagnaCut ones this year, the Galactic Bacon with the purple heart just spoke to me, though.
 
For me the up charge for the Galactic Bacon just did not seem worth it. Maybe in person the blade will impress, other Damascus patterns are more interesting to my eye.

Glad that those that wanted one were successful

I'm not sure I'd buy an annual that wasn't damascus, I think. Unless it was ivory.
