Seems like retail plus fees and shipping. Might even be losing on the shipping. If it were me, it would have been $735 retail + $50.53 in sales tax for retail total of $785.53. I would incur approximately $26.85 in shipping costs for USPS Priority and insurance, which also requires signature on delivery due to insurance >$500. PayPal fees on $850 is approximately $30.15 based on an online estimator.Well the first one (Magnacut, not bacon) has hit the exchange for $850![]()
After the price plus tax, that's not a huge markup. Especially if that's a G&S price.

So the seller is gouging people for his actual cost plus about $7.50. What a jerk.
F&F/Venmo/Zelle
Whether their profit is significant or not, I'd roll my eyes any time a limited knife drops and is for sale again elsewhere the day they start getting delivered.
... But why?F&F/Venmo/Zelle

Those are options of course, but with the push to use G&S here.................
... But why?
There's any number of reasons someone might want or need to let something go immediately. Maybe they bought it on a whim, and it's not actually to their taste. Maybe they had a sudden expense that's more important. Maybe they were irresponsible and shouldn't have spent the money in the first place and have buyer's remorse now. Maybe they just like getting in on a drop for the adrenaline rush.
The guy's not gouging anyone. The large MagnaCut was available for almost two days. You're not buying or selling or involved in any way.
You just want him to cut the price on his knife by $30 and violate the PayPal ToS so someone other than you can save $30 on a luxury collectible?
So what exactly is your beef?
Using PayPal for knife purchases isn't a violation of the ToS. The PayPal ToS just says no firearms or certain weapons restricted by law. They're absolutely inconsistent about enforcing that, and usually when they're inconsistent, it's inconsistency on the side of overzealousness, to the detriment of people buying and selling knives, but there isn't anything in there that says you can't buy or sell knives using PayPal, and people generally do so uneventfully. On the other hand, the ToS explicitly state that you cannot ask for F&F payment for a sale (I have used this loophole myself - I always price for G&S and ask for G&S, but if someone pays F&F, I just send the man his knife).I definitely agree, those are the methods requested in his listing.
He's asking his buyer to violate PayPal TOS (which I'm pretty sure you're doing anyway if using PayPal for knife purchases..."weapons" and all) and yeah, why should he make $30 from his impulsivity/lack of budgeting for emergencies/irresponsibility? If you're in the type of financial situation that you ever need to sell an item you purchased a couple days ago, maybe you shouldn't be dabbling in "luxury collectible" markets.
What exactly is your beef with me having beef? Would you feel the same way if someone bought 25 of them and sold them each for $30 profit? I stated it pretty clearly...I roll my eyes when there's a limited production run showing up on secondary marketplaces the day it's received by the buyer. If it was about getting their money back for any of the excuses you listed they could just return it. Not sure why it's a problem for you that I don't agree with flipping.
These are all rhetorical questions of course. We don't have to agree and we don't have to argue it out since neither side seems to have much flex. Hope you have a nice weekend![]()
I believe everyone has the right to sell their property for whatever price they want to set. Here we go…

My sentiments exactly. That dude can F right off with that.
Just chaps my backside that the poor collector and admirer of sharp objects must compete with these folks who don’t have a care in the world about the pieces in their possession.
Just about making a buck.![]()
Lone_Wolfe has connections.
This guy's not even offering to buy dinner first. No, I just posted an ISO on facebook.
I still got bent over, just not as bad as the pair listed here.
