2024 GEC 93 Ramfoot

Christmas came early this year, just came in today. I was wondering if they would be able to replicate the action from the last run and by feel it’s very close, maybe just a touch lighter? Not very scientific I know. The rest is GEC standard, uniform blade edge and centered, fit and finish are great, no edges or seams catching my fingernail. Spring is flush at the half and full. This is my only Kingwood knife I think and the color and figure are beautiful. Nothing to criticize except that they never make enough for everyone. Happy holidays and merry Christmas to the AAPK and BF families.

Edit: better daylight photo and failed to mention the smaller long pull.

Is the far right an SFO?

That's the first Kingwood I've seen, looks so nice I had to find out some more about it. Dalbergia cearensis, occurring only in one small area of Brazil, it is of the same family as Cocobolo, African Blackwood, and Rosewood. Explains perhaps why the most similar-looking I have is my #735221 in African Rosewood:

So, I don’t think I’ve seen it mentioned prior, apologies if it has but anyone know if the longer swedge and shorter long pull will be the same on the NF versions? Or does AAPK pull some serious weight and have their own blade ??

Good point as the previous Norhfields seemed to have the short swedge whereas these AAPK have it incorporated/under into the swedge.

Alex.Y. Alex.Y. post seems to show the AAPK style but only time will tell with the release of Northfields with Ram's Head shield ? I'm looking forward to getting the Micarta one very much. 😍

This is indeed rather curious with the different long pull and swedge configuration.

I typically like the Tidioute trim better with satin blades, but often prefer the Northfield cover materials.

First world problems.

This time I struggle to choose between snakewood and bone. I prefer the wood, but also think the ramhead shield is very cool.

I’m fairly new to Long Pulls, I mean it’s been a decade or so but to me the Nail Nick was the version that all my knives as a kid had and the Long Pulls seemed a little extra, so to speak.
So I’m still in the Long Pull honeymoon period maybe? BUT, I think I’m leaning towards Tidioute blade here, somethings just a bit uncomfortable looking on these Northfields , certainly compared to the handsome looking ‘19 runs 🤷🏻‍♀️
