I didn't realize they actually released these with their own part numbers - the 4 new wood varieties. They were available at the factory store for a short time (some popped up on the bay now). I am told they were in very short supply. Might be the rarest slipjoint release in awhile. Something strange must be going on with the wood ones, as even the nickel/silver ones are sold out.

Edit: now I see even the synthetic 303s are sold out. So Buck didn't anticipate the demand, the production line is paused, the supply chain is paused, or something else. :)

I've noticed the nickel ones.
I was unaware of any in brass.
They're pretty knives.
I'm not much into slipjoints, but those intrigue me.
I see some retailers have the nickel ones in stock.
I've watched Buck's site for a restock on those myself.

Yes, you can still get the nickel ones at various retailers, even though Buck is sold out of them. But my main point is that I was previously unaware that the brass versions even existed. I'm trying to have a Buck slipjoint collection, so any slipjoint news is relevant to me.

I obtained a 303 Cadet from 2025 with Brass bolsters and I asked Tony Wagner how many were made in brass before they switched to Nickel Silver .. He said "Not many. We only made a few as dealer samples and a few more to use as photo models."

If you look at the Buck Catalog, the wood version was suposed to be Brass. However, only a few preproduction samples were made of brass, I am unaware of any brass production runs.

I ordered a set of the wood 303, 301 and was disapionted when they came in silver. Brass would have looked much better IMO.

Yes, it must have been close to production because they even took out part numbers for the brass releases: 0303BRS-B, 0303BRS1, 0301BRS, and 0301BRS1. The part numbers for the nickel/silver ones are: 0303BRS2-B, 0303BRS3, 0301BRS2, and 0301BRS3

There are extent examples of the Brass models with those model numbers. I own one and can voucher that the model on its box is indeed, 0303BRS-B. See this extract from my knife catalog:

0303BRS-BEbony wood handles with medallion and Brass bolster, 420HC steel clip, spey, and sheepsfoot blades. Rare, pre-production Sales and Dealer Demo model.
