2025 Badger Knife Show - Wisconsin

Congrats on your trio of Badger Knife Show acquisitions, Harry!:cool::thumbsup:
I especially like your stag canoe. Are both blades on the same end, or does it have 3 blades?

Paul Jakeywax31 started a thread a few weeks back, but for some reason it got moved from Traditionals to the Community subforum, so I think a lot of people missed it.
I was quite sure I'd seen that thread a while ago, but searched for it last week and found nothing. But I'd limited my search to the Traditional subforum, so that's why I "struck out". (I was going to post some text from the carton of a 12-pack of Wisconsin beer I bought there in May that had some Wisconsin-related "name-dropping" that I thought BF Badger attenders could kick around in idle moments. I always like to invite folks to expand their horizons along with me.🤓)

Thanks, Harry. Given the length you reported for the knife and the photo seeming to indicate 2 blades pivoting on the same end, I suspected you'd probably picked up a big old gunboat canoe, which are fairly rare in my experience. (Although I found out via Google that yours is 1 of 5000.)

Here's a gunboat canoe I have, and I think there are at least 2 other BF members who have posted gunboats from the same run as mine. Mine is from 1978, a year after yours, from Rodgers-Wostenholm, made for NKCA (National Knife Collectors Association) which I think is just a new name for the same group that had called itself NKC&DA (D for Dealers) just the year before, as on your knife.

I made it to that show last year, but unfortunately was not able to this year. It is at a great location, and had a great turnout. I hope to go again sometime. I like knife shows, I'd much rather buy a knife I can hold in my hand and look over than buy one based on photos online. Nice food all around, the hotel/show is in the same building. Lots of variety of dealers.
