I’ve added quite a few Bucks to the stable this year, especially in my pursuit of gathering all the traditional steels that 112’s have come from the factory in. But BG-42 and Damascus 112’s don’t top my list for the year. Those are AMAZING pieces of history, but my hands-down winner of 2025 is this oak 112 in 5160 from Copper and Clad. I made it a user the instant I freed it from the mailbox. All Bucks deserve to be used, but 5160 just screams for it so that it may develop an honest patina - slowly, over time. Whether on my belt in an Ed Costa sheath, or in my pocket, this one gets the most carry time and use. Although the Range Pro that I swapped a Magnacut blade into is often along for the ride, as well.
Here, I’m repairing one of my daughter’s favorite purses.
