The event knife will be a 922 Walnut Skinner Pro

I wonder what steel they will use. The original Guide Series used 420HC, while the Pro Series used 154CM and then switched to Sandvik 12C27M on the RedHead 922 versions they sold at Bass Pro. I read the Chairman’s Tour knife will cost $174.99 which seems a little pricey for 420HC. I look forward to seeing the 922 with the Buck name on it. Someone please post a photo when one is released. The 922 is a great design and works well as a skinning knife.

that's cool, I have a streak to maintain for the Chairman's Tour knives. I don't have all the President's Tour knives, though. I think they send me the same serial number every year.
What little I have dealt with Shepherd Hills, they have always been great to do business with.

If they come up with one of these knives that doesn't have a signature I might be interested.
It does nothing for me. Actually quite the opposite.

The knives are initially unsigned. This is a meet and greet with CJ and he will sign the knife in person. I get the box signed personally. I'm not sure about the unsold knives if he signs them before leaving . Be aware that even without the signature the knives have a Chairman's Tour billboard on the blade.

Thanks.
I've purchased them after the fact over the phone, and they come with the knife signed.
I'll inquire with them about one w/o signature.

I was curious and this is what I determined about Chairman's Tour vs President's Tour. CJ became President in 1999 and his father was Chairman. After Chuck's passing in 2015 CJ held all 3 positions as President , CEO, and Chairman of the Board. Lane Tobiasson came to Buck in 2021 as President, the first non-Buck to hold the position with CJ continuing to hold the positions of CEO and Chairman of the Board. Tobiasson had previous work history at Smith & Wesson, Crimson Trace, and LaCrosse.

Thanks.

Someone on the Buck Facebook group called and ordered one already. If you ordered before the event, I would assume you could request one without a signature.

I am glad that Buck is releasing some of their older models that have not been sold in a while. I can't say that I love the handle though. Also, $175 seems a little pricey for a dymalux handle and 420HC.
