It was a mk1 USN Ka-Bar. Yes it's has, to me anyways, a much nicer look and feel now with the modified handle.
I have the same KaBar...you have my wheels turning lol
 
Thanks mate. I won't have any trouble moving it on when i find a better fix blade people seem to like it. I try to keep my fix blade numbers low.
If we weren’t on the opposite ends of the planet I’d be boxing up a bunch of stuff to send your way offering a trade :D
IMO KaBar doesn’t offer a more useful blade shape.
 
Really do like the classic lines of that civivi model.

I apologize, you’ve probably already seen this recycled pic (I posted it in a thread about lightweight backpacking knives), but this is my setup...MSK 2.5 and a Cadet. Useful (I’ll admit this COVID crap has ruined a lotta outings I had planned, so it’s been confined to the yard), and takes up very little space.
