Very nice combo JamesEvogrip 18 - carried from time to time when I think I might need the saw or scissors... which usually I don't.
Roundhead - hard to beat as an EDC

Thanks Paul, hope you're having and enjoyable holiday.Very nice combo James
I've been intrigued with Out the Front auto's of late and really like this Guardian Recon 35. Combined with my pretty regular carry 84mm small Tinker.

James, the OTF's (Microtech and Guardian) that I own are very reliable. I used to work in the trades and even carrying an OTF was out of the question simply because I felt the dirty conditions would stop them in their tracks. I had a Microtech about 6yrs ago and shelved it for that reason. Then I recently started watching abuse videos on you tube and was taken aback by how durable they are. If they do fail, it doesn't take a lot to get them back in the game. Thanks Paul, hope you're having and enjoyable holiday.
Your Guardian looks like fun and fairly rugged as far as autos go. Reliable?
I've been looking at various autos for a bit. Haven't pulled the trigger yet mostly because our state's laws limit them (when concealed) to three inch blades. Those that I've wanted have been over that limit.
Hey, any experience with sharpening Elmax yet?
Thanks Paul, that's just the kind of info I was looking for and coming from you, has validity. Sorry for the slow response, I don't get around as often as I use to.James, the OTF's (Microtech and Guardian) that I own are very reliable. My Guardian failed for the very first time since it arrived 2 weeks ago. In it's defense I used it to pierce the ground so my father in laws flag could be inserted near his headstone. I did wipe it off then retracted it, then fired it and it failed. I did hit some gravel when making the hole (only thing I had on me) and glinted the edge a little. I hit the Elmax on my Worksharp with the 6000 grit belt and it was back to hair popping sharp.
I flooded the cavity with rem oil and used my compressor to flush things out and maybe fired it another 20/30 times without fail![]()
