You and I have traveled similar roads Grateful. Over the years I downsized from Fieldmaster to Small Tinker as an EDC. Now I'm enjoying the 74mm Vics. Here's an Executive pulled from the "Bay", it received some TLC and a pair of pretty blue covers. Turned out well and I'm very happy with it. I find it completely sufficient in an urban settings but I still pick up a light Buck or one hand Spyderco for walking the woods or when something heavier might be useful.

afishhunter afishhunter is changing his carry?! What?! pull your money out of the stock market! Get away from the beaches! I don't know what's coming, but major shifts in the universe like this don't happen for no reason!

I am toting "my" Executive, as I loved the platform so much, I had to get one that is fully my own and that I do not have to somewhat be careful with as I do the other one, that I feel spiritually belongs to my Fiancée's grandfather. I was very lucky to get this blue one.

Actually, all of the knives I am carrying today are new - I got the Native Chief in this steel (CTS-XHP) to be a compliment to my Police 4 LW serrated in K390, as I like big working knives with at least 4" of blade. One is in a steel that will last a long time, the other is in a steel renown for being friendly and easy to the user. It is described as a "high hardness 440C, or stainless D2". Goes to show stuff does not need to be that fancy. Look at my (let's call it "plus") new Spyderco in 440C+ ! Proud as heck of it!

Funny thing is, the Police is a lightweight, and has liners, and this is not a lightweight, and has no liners (but does have G-10 rather than FRN).

Got the little Boker USB, too, in D2, phew. Finally have a truly legal in CA to carry OTF, my Microtech is close, but the 0.2 inch difference (must be LESS than 2" and it's 2.2" and the double-edged dagger profile makes me think, on the Murphy's Law occasion I am stopped with it, cops would take no quarter, so I carry it carefully and sparingly) as well as the fact that this being a bit cheaper can be carried on my keychain or whatever, anywhere I'd like, so I can truly test the platform of OTFs in a better way.

I don't kniw if any 1 remebers,a couple of weeks ago I posted pic of an old rotted bench I found in the garden. Well anyway I kept a bit to make a cutting board, you know for all those cutting tasks the wife frowns upon for using the kitchen boards. Got round to finishing it up this morning. Sanded & couple of coats of lemon oil come up a treat

Cutting board looks good mate. Nothing like it was

The Cruwear/Micarta combination is perfect and very "woodsy", in my opinion. Steel is very stainless for being a tool steel. Good companion to my Explorer, of which I am showing off its screwdriver as part of the scale tools, the magnifying glass (helps me sharpen!) and "De Hook". I love de hook, I just wish the orange peeler was a more popular tool, esp. on smaller models.
