24 hours with an Inkosi

Just thought I'd leave this here...so excited about this engraving...I've been carrying my Inkosi for a while, and now its officially the only one like it in the world :)

Even with all the talk of the large Inkosi, I'm still more interested in the small one. I just wish that the small Inkosi was the same size as the small Sebenza. For me, I'm trying to convince myself that a knife with a 2.75" blade is worth what the Inkosi costs. I know it's not much smaller than a small Seb, but still.

It totally is worth it! I can't say that enough. I have owned and used a small sebenza and they are so close in size that I don't feel like the Inkosi is even smaller. The finger grooves took some getting used to for me.

But....I really love this thing. It's Been my primary work and daily EDC since the day I got it.

Well, I just received my new small Inkosi! And so far I think it's a great knife. I stand 5'9" and have medium-sized hands, and it feels good in hand. One thing I did notice is that, while it locks up solidly, I can unlock it very easily; I don't know if the clip's position off the lockbar is the reason for that, and if that's common for this model. Nevertheless, so far I really like the Inkosi.

Yes the lockbar pushes much easier than a small 21 for instance. I think the clip position has a lot to do with it.

Who did your engraving ? And does this void any crk warrenty?

Thanks! It's your fault!:D

Unfortunately, to this day, I still don't know how to post pics online. I'm a dinosaur; even my cell phone is a flip phone with no camera in it that I bought back in '06. Hopefully someday...

nbp:

Thanks for the info. Interestingly, also because of the clip's position, it has a stronger "grip" on the pocket than my Sebenzas.

Just thought I would update this. I still carry my Small Inkosi often. I gets mixed in my rotation with a large insingo and an sng. its still going strong.

I am definitely saving for a large inkosi though! I think it is the Ultimate edc knife

Might as well throw in my $0.02. I bought the small Inkosi after eyeing it since it first came out. I had a 25 for a few months but it was just too big for me to EDC, and I knew a small 25 would be awesome. Or so I thought.

I was stunned at how much the seemingly negligible difference with the small 21 impacted grip and (perceived) utility. the blade looked MUCH smaller, and while the handle of the 21 fits perfectly in my hand with a solid 4 finger grip, my pinky hung halfway off the handle and the top of the handle sank in my hand, instead of providing secure purchase.

The lockup was really late, and I could push the lock bar all the way through to almost 100% lockup without any effort. There was up and down play in the blade (I've had over half a dozen CRKs and they were all perfect...some slip by QC I guess).

The finger grooves were also not properly aligned with my fingers resulting in an awkward and somewhat uncomfortable grip.

The lockup issue I was disappointed in, but I knew CRK would take care of it if it was the only aspect holding me back. But I was honestly surprised at how weird this design was. For reference, I wear medium to large size gloves, depending on the brand.

And I now know the the small plain jane Insingo is the perfect package for me. It's the one I'm getting next (currently on the hunt for one). I've had the CF version and the micarta version and always preferred the utility of the insingo blade but the minimalist and simple design of the plain titanium handles that I've had on clip points.

Your mileage may vary.

I had an inkosi in hand and had issues with the grip. That first groove was poking my finger pad. I love that knife but for that. Would like the hear if it was me. Didn't give it enough time. I have a small hand.

I got a mnandi and it's beautiful but a bit light.
