That handle looks interesting, any comments?
Well, it was very comfy to hold. The palm swell felt nice & filling, but since it narrowed again at the butt did not cast the blade out of line with my grip/arm. I've only ever handled three other Moran knives, one of which had a handle very similar, and the others were different but also felt very nice.
The handle on the one pictured above also had a wide flat spot at the front- the guard was square on top- which was nice to rest the thumb. But the blade spine drops below the handle and it has a longish choil, so it probably would not have been as nice for gripping ahead of the guard. Again, I didn't want to hurt its value by putting it to use, so this is not direct observation.
The guard seemed a bit long for my tastes, but had an interesting feature. If you tapped it with your fingernail, it would ring in a bright clear tone like a tuning fork.
