25 not as good as 21

IMO the best edc ever made is the Large Regular (and I know people are going to disagree with this next statement) but with S30V blade steel as I spoke with Angela and Anne directly on many occasions and lock stick is just a fact of life when you use the BG-42 blade. I have sent in over 15 Large Regular BG-42s to CRK to try to totally remove all of the lock stick and a few have pretty much done it but still had a slight bit, and the guys working on them at CRK even wrote me notes saying things like "got the lockstick as good as possible" or "Still a tiny bit of lockstick, its just the BG-42). I understand that BG-42 is a bit of a harder steel but for what I use it for one or two notches on the Rockwell Hardness meter doesn't affect me at all. But, just my 2 cents :). But, I also think that if you carry a BG-42 for long enough you can totally smooth it out but for me the S30V is just a lot smoother in most respects.

25 for me. I like the way it looks and it just feels so much better in my hand.

I didn't notice that until earlier this evening. I spent some time sharpening my 21 on the Sharpmaker, after it was done I picked up the 25 and the feeling hit me like a ton of bricks. Didn't realize how much more refined the 25 was until then.

Regardless of model, I've had to tinker with all of my CRKs. It's not a problem. Let us be grateful for the ability to tweak to our liking.

I prefer the 25. I have always reassembled the exactly the way I disassembled and have had zero issues. In reverse of course if that makes sense.......

I disliked my first 25 and offloaded it very quickly for another Zaan. I recently nabbed another 25 off the exchange and I don't know how to explain the different reaction, but I like it so much the rest of my entire collection is in jeopardy. I want a micarta 25 now, and am in serious lust to try a DT Damascus bladed one.

This is the crappy part about the knife hobby. There's always a what's next in the back of my mind for me. I get a knife in that I find perfect... And then a little while later I go out looking for another perfect knife that is packaged up in a different format.

I'm thinking about trying a 25 out next ,but also got an itch to find an Unumzaan. Such tough decisions.

21 for me. When I wanted a knife with an adjustable pivot, I spent a few dollars more and got a Les George Talos. Wounderful knife.

I would have to say +1 for the 21. The biggest reason is simplicity. No adjustment or thread lock. Just seems to me the 21 is simple and what's there to fix? Never seen a problem with the 21. Who has broke a blade because it stock is to thin? Who has separated the two slabs because the pivot is so small? To me three points holding the slabs to gather is more than enough? Could be all wrong about this but it is my opinion.
The 21 is just the knife for me. I carry and own both large and small. Own many different brands and I am back to CRK.
Love the knife and love the people at CRK.
