Thought I would take some pictures of thinnest to thickest Warden side by side.
Just by looking at them, the SMOG looks almost 1/3 the thickness of the 07SE

Doesn't look like a big difference on paper but wow, what a difference when you see them side to side..

Ridiculously thick for a blade that size, but at least the blade matches the handles that way!

The thick GW SE looks great and is great in the hand.

It's the only GW that doesn't feel like something is missing.

Do the game wardens look like skeleton wardens under the scales? Or is it a different handle shape?

If that Satin/Black had hit the BCS "thin" I would have definitely pulled the trigger on one.

I agree,

the .27" feel perfect when holding. Any other warden feels a bit small in my hand..

Nice GWs, guys.

This thread inspired me to measure the spine thickness on my regular .200 GWs. Ironically, all of them are more well under .200, in fact about .160. Interesting. :p

Elen, there weren't that many .200 Wardens, and all were coated. Are yours .16 with the coating?

I stripped a Skeleton warden, and it went from .200 to about .180.

Mine are about 0.157 to 0.160 with the black crinkle, yeah. I think they're officially .200 GWs, though, being the standard models from BCS and all. ... Unless I got lucky and scored thinner from both Skunk and a local HOG. :D

I should really get a FATTY Warden. I like the Railroad Spike Warden name. :D

The .27" wardens look cool, but has anyone actually tried to cut anything with one? I have a .22" "bruiser" warden, which feels very nice in the hand, but it's about as useful for slicing as a brick. This is with the factory edge, though. It's also very heavy, which is fine in the living room and in the safe, not so much for EDC. I like my .14" OJ warden much, much better- it goes with me everywhere in a thin Krein Kydex sheath with the tek-lok removed. I just drop it in my pocket and I'm good to go.

They did hit the store.....late in 06:p
The .140 satin/black is one of the best lookings GW's around.
You should still be able to find one pretty easy if you need one:thumbup:

Thanks for the comparrison pics UJ:thumbup:

For light cutting the .27'' warden is the sharpest small Busse I own. It has the meanest edge I have ever seen on a warden. Obviously it is limited because of it's thickness but for what it is it's amazing! It slices through paper like a razor blade, better than my SMOG. The edges on the .22" wardens are by far the worst I have seen, barley even an edge. Nonetheless that what a sharpening stone is for. A slight reprofile of the .22" edge makes all the difference in usability.

Hmm. Sounds like I need to put a decent edge on my bruiser!
Thanks UJ!
