Why do I feel like I need one?? :)

I don't carry large folders, and I don't have a task that requires one. Current 'HD' folders include PM2 and 940, the end. Lol. Why is it I am fascinated with this thing?!?? Current/former owners please chime in. What's good, and what's in my head? Thanks in advance. :thumb up:

Why are you fascinated with it? Because it's "manly." It was designed with input from members of the Special Forces. It is indeed a great knife. I like mine a lot. It is a thick, heavy, knife, though.

Ehh, go with the Contego...it's around the same price, is just as tough but has better steel (CPM M4). To be honest, the coating BM uses on their black blades is absolutely terrible, it's more like matte finish nail polish than credible steel coating, my D2 Griptilian is BK1 coated (same as the 275) and the coating has started to wear off from me scrubbing the knife with Barkeepers' Friend, which is NOT a harsh abrasive at all. The Contego uses cerakote, which is also a type of paint but is of a higher quality composition and will last a lot longer.

I don't care about scratches or anything, to be honest. I also don't care for the Contego - it's hideous. Interesting responses, thanks!

My Adamas has only one purpose. Most of the time with outdoor activity like Hiking, Fishing, Hunting, I wear a fixed blade.
But once in a while I go someplace where wearing a fixed blade might be a bit "too much" in terms of attention. That's when
I wear, or carry in my pack the Adamas. That's really the only time it sees any use, it's far to big and heavy for anything else.

I picture it being something like a camping knife (for myself). I'd probably keep it clipped inside my backpack and pocket my Dragonfly or something. I've never owned a fixed blade, and really can't see myself with one.

I have the Auto version and love it. The size works for me and is fine in my pocket. It wont disappoint you.

Any Benchmade lover needs one. It's big, heavy, and impractical, but you need one. Mine is actually smooth as can be with no play and perfectly centered. It's a classic Benchmade design and probably the only knife I own where cool factor and uniqueness alone are the main reasons I own it.

biggest beefiest Axis lock in the entire line up as well (unless that changed) yes its big in the pocket but the G10 is a good non pants tearing texture. Deep pocket clip and nearly indestructible. Its like having a folding hatchet in your pocket

I don't know you so I can't say what's in your head. But what is good... It is an awsome blade. Like how fried chicken is awsome even though there may be better food alternatives (read, knife alternatives). You probably want it for the same reason I wanted it and then got it. Because subconsciously it resonates with my primal being. Because I could. It is very heavy. Most every other knife in my collection is a better slicer. But for a second, I do not regret having it.

second time Ive posted this near legendary video of the benchmark that is the Adamas today. Worth watching all the way

Thanks, all. I've watched the beginning of that video. I can't get further than the metal on metal part, lol.
