I just scored a 2GB USB thumb drive at Office Depot for $44.98 plus tax -- there's some crazy in-store rebate thingy going on.

I asked the comp dept manager and he said, as far as he knew, the deal is nation-wide... Good way to get small, portable storage of your data...

Bah !! I knew it..
About 6 months back I bought a 1gb at Staples for about 40 something with tax , I knew if I waited I could get a bigger one for the same price.
Ah well....:D

Thats pretty much the story with any memory product, two weeks down the road you can always get a better deal.

Yes, but you got to use it for that period of time as well.

Don't worry, 6 months from now those puny 2Gb models will be free after rebates. :D

I think today or tomorrow is the last day for the sale, but like the sales associate told me, next week, it'll be a different thumb drive on sale.

I saw this sale, too, and picked one up. I have to say, the sale at the Office Depot I went to also threw in a free Case Logic neoprene USB flash drive case, too, with any flash drive purchase! It holds 2 drives and can clip to your keychain. A very good deal!
