I redesigned my 2nd amendment a bit and came up with this. its made from hardened M2 from a power hacksaw blade, its hardness tested in at 64.5 RC. Its going to get some carbon fiber scales and a kydex sheath with some tec-loks. the blade is onley .100" thick but thats ok as its not made to be a choper but an EDC to ward off punk kids so i want a good slicer. its the one with .166 wrighten on it. i cut it out at work with the wire edm, man its nice to beable to have axcess to such sweet things. here thay are :D

That is really nice, JT. I like this one better than the standard 2nd amendment. The wharnie is nice, too.

the wharnie is headed for the kitchen for a life long service in tomato cutting :D. thanks, ya i also like it more. i have been trying to get a good basic design down so that i can have a bunch water jet cut and do a small production run. i think im getting closer. the 3 black dots are where im going to wire edm out the holes for the pins. what do you think, 3 pins or 2. i cant decide, but as how long the handle is i was thinking 3 loveless stainless steel bolts would be nice. what do you think?

Unless you put in a lanyard hole, I would prefer 3. Kind of a zen-like number I think.

Does the wire edm have to cut through the side to get to the hole, or can it do a direct plunge?

well we have a hole poper that is an edm but does not cut just drills holes. it uses small brass rods that have some holes running through them. these holes are used for water, the water is pumped through these holes. then you just use it like a drill of sorts. the nice thing is that it will drill through anything that conducts electricty. so i will pop the 3 holes by eye, thats what the black dots are for. then put it in the wire edm and tell it to cut a circle around the poped hole. works very nice.

Ah it would be nice to have access to nice equipment like that. I am using the milling machine at school to try and make the kmg part that holds the tension arm, It is hard when the vise is not square and I have no formal instruction on machining.

How's it going JT? Seems like a long time since I have talked to you. I still have not finished that big old chopper we started over Christmas break. I have started and nearly finished a smaller one, that I heat treated in a coal fire, and oil quenched (in crappy old oil) , and tempered in the oven. It only needs the handles finished up. Then maybe I will get back to the chopper. (it was way too long for me to harden in my hibachi grill)

I like three pins in the handle that size, also, as said, unless there is a lanyard hole, then two pins plus the lanyard hole.

Another thing I have seen that I really like is the Hole-Pin-Hole set up.

Also, flared tubes have really gotten my attention lately.

Also I really dig the green handled knife. That is a great color, and matches a particular green swim suit in a most eye pleasing manner I might add as well. (the handles I am working on for my small knife are green as well, but not as nice a green as yours).
