Interestingly, in British English they call that thing a 'guillotine' like what the French employed in their Revolution but for more grisly purposes... sick eh ?

How do they pronounce guillotine? Do they do it the French way so it's GEE-yo-teen, or the traditionally Franco-British way of GILL-o-teen (or maybe Gwill-o-teen, so the "u" isn't given short thrift)?

"Gill o teen" we dont speak French less we have to

Except of course the Normans invaded us and left us with loads of French words in our language (but we dont talk about that).

We speak French the same way Americans speak English (badly)

Good times. Congrats to the winners. I was having a hard time deciding who to root for. Having spent my college years in the Bay Area, I have a sentimental attachment for the Niners. OTOH, how can you not like Mahomes, and it is a long time since I saw a game in Kezar Stadium.
Then the other day, a colleague asked me to give him five dollars. He said “ call it a bet on the Niners. You will still give me the five bucks, but it won’t seem like I panhandled you”. How could I pass that up?

Congrats Ken!!! I love it. Enjoy those Super Bowl beauties. I won one of Paul’s knife baskets of awesomeness last year.

First, I want to thank Paul and Jeremy for their generosity! Next I’d like to thank Jon for nominating me. I was hoping that the winners would allow me to predict the outcome of tomorrow's Super Bowl, but I didn't get the clarity I hoped for.
For example, Whetstone39 winning one lot suggests a KC victory, but sf fanatic winning a different lot indicates a SF triumph. So I guess I end up just as ignorant as I started.
