• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

Before I started trying my hand at knives I made/make custom slingshots, most of my personal slingshots are usually prototypes or slingshots with defects, etc. so i thought it was time to make myself a custom slingshot, since I am also getting into knife making as well, it might as well be a matched set.

This is my GS-55 "The Hawk" design slingshot with my own knife design as well.

Slingshot: Aluminum core, Thin wood is Ash, scales are black palm with a spalted tamarind accent. All woods were stabilized.

Knife: same scale construction as the slingshot, the blade is 5/32" O1 tool steel. This was a fun project, I'm still deciding on if i want a sheath that holds both at once or not. The knife work was all done by hand and the "grinds" being done with a file jig like Aaron Gough showed. Let me know what you think.

Wow! I really like both. The woods just POP. Nice shape on the knife as well. I love a good wharncliffe.

but where's the rubber? Anyone that enjoys slingshots should do some youtube searches and find some amazingly talented users of the device. Great looking set.

I didn't have bands on it because there was already a lot going on in these photos, i also realized now that my background is too busy and distracting. What makes a good background for photos?
