2nd knife,learned some more

heres my second effort, not finished it needs more sanding and new handle.
I learned,
1-get scratches out of blade before slabs go on,
2-don't pound the snot out of pins( hickory will crack)
3- I love this hobby
4-taking a good pic is tough
 
I think you are going to be a good knife maker in time. That's great for knife number 2. Hand rub the blade and the butt, Thanks for posting it to see. :)
 
Just glue and pin the slabs on ,no need to peen them .
Make them a little longer as well ,finish at the finger gaurd ,nice knife other wise.
 
looks good. what i would do is replace the handle and extend back twards the butt. but dont go all the way leave like 1/4" of steel exposed and file out a lanyard hole that fallows the curve of the butt and goes in and falows curve of wood handle. so it looks like a loop sticking out the back.
 
looks great, much better than my 2nd knife! be careful about pin placement because that can lead to splitting in non-stabilized wood.
