We looked at making the body from Aluminum but the cost of production would have been to high. The base is made from steel that has been powder coated by a special epoxy blend to give it a really durable finish. All the platen parts, tooling arms, wheels, and work rest are aluminum since they come in contact with water.

I’d prefer steel anyway, as it’s more rigid.

Big thing I noticed right away is the knob that locks the lower tooling arm in place. From my view it looks like it’s right in the path of the belt. Maybe not with that tooling arm but when you angle it forward or backwards. Or when you use a large contact wheel only. Also might want to have this post moved to shop talk. I’m fairly sure this section is for just listing items for sale.

The lower tooling arm knob can be moved to either side of the grinder to give you more room and options.
