Which belt grinder is the best starting out with?Never used one,I finally have funds to get out..I am trying not to spend more then $1,700.00 ..Would want a vfd..not sure which company to go with... advice?

I have a kmg and i like it. I have no experience with other machines. The kmg should fit your budget and its a popular platform with lots of add ons available.

Within your budget I highly recommend the Pheer 454 with VFD controller. I was using a Craftsman 2x42 for years and finally plunked down the cash for one and have been immensely satisfied! I would recommend the 1.5 HP motor vice the 1 hp (my one regret is I should have gotten the more powerful motor.)

That actually works for any website. type site: then the website then space and whatever you are searching for. But no space between the semicolon and website
Yes, since it's part of the Google search syntax it'll work on every Google indexed site. Nevertheless, I think it's a sweet technique for searching forums. Especially since you always get the same look and feel.

Thank everyone for he replies.I realize there is a ton of threads with various recomendations lol..I'ma have to just list pros and cons of each grinder packs and see which one sticks out.. definitely gonna try to get a 2hp

Look at the Esteem. With the new platen option that will soon be available it's going to be a contender for sure, not that it wasn't already.

Ive recently upgraded from a HF belt grinder to an Ameribrade 272. I was exactly $1000 with a couple belts shipped and running to finish mine. I bought the Ameribrade completed chassis, Bought my own VFD and Motor and mounted then bought a steel bench grinder stand. <--- all these are included in the $1000. I love the grinder, very high quality.

Thanks guys for the recomendations.I was leaning towards a north ridge and just paying more for it,but the lead time is 3 months and I can't do that lol.

My opinion is to wait the three months and get what you really want. You will use this grinder for many years. If you don't you will regret it every time you have even the slightest problem with another grinder. The Northridge grinder is the highest quality grinder out there. It is worth the wait. Larry
