Just wanted to give a big shoutout to Ken on here! He helped make the process painless!!!! If you're thinking about a 2x72, do it!

Perhaps you posted it here previously, but what are the components of your grinder? It looks pretty darn good!

It's an iron horse motor 2hp, cheap-o eBay VFD, Oregon Blade Maker grinder. I repurposed an old table I had for the rest (temporary) and bolted it to 3/4" mdf. Waiting on my belts to arrive but some small test runs show it runs super smooth from 20-60hz. Old 60 grit belt started shaping steel quick! I can't wait to get to work on it.

Funny story on that Josh Rider, my old townhouse had a big dumpster and one day I took the trash out and there it was, sitting next to the dumpster! Hand painted! I was like "you're coming with me"

Love it, something about old ships just sparks my interest.
I have a tattoo of one on my arm.
(Sorry to derail the thread )

Grinder setup looks good - and that is a NICE painting! I like! Of course, you know me 'n sailing boats :)

When you get ready for switches 'n things, just holler.

Nice grinder!
I have been thinking of one of those for the past few days, any idea what the difference is between his yellow (with Al wheels) and black grinder (aside from the $50)?
It looks to be just a difference in upper arm design, but I am not sure.

I figured since you have one on hand, you may have asked him that yourself?

Thanks, and congrats!

I looked as well, I'm sure the design is just more flashy. I'd save the money and put it towards belts and accessories. I'm happy with the yellow one overall.

Any info on the VFD used?
I've been looking but not sure what I need.
I can only run 110v.

I used 220, that's all I can suggest. Why are you limited? If you have 110 you can get 220.

Lance, PM sent with motor/vfd combo info.

I would post the info, but they are non supporting, so shoot me an email if you need a point in the direction.

As for only having 110 available, he may live in a townhouse/apartment complex and is planning on having his grinder on a mobile table and VFD mounted remotely.
