Looking at bJanson 2x48 WIP grinder build, I notice that I had a lot of the materials need, so I started out to build one, and this is what I came up with.

Very versatile with the small wheel, large flat platen and contact wheel. How do you make use of the width of the belt so as not to wear just a small strip of the belt?

The work rest could raise and lower accordingly.

The rest are setting on 3/4" square tubing, and I have 1/2" that I can stack on the 3/4" or just use the 1/2". I'm thinking about having all 3 rest's at different height's to use all of the belt. I can adjust the belt up and down about a 1/2".

Very nice work! Why such a wide angle around the small wheel? This limits the depth of the area you can get into.

Thanks for the comments. The idler wheel is what I had on my Burr King when I purchased it several years ago. When I upgraded to a 10" contact wheel, the idler hasn't been used. Also I can use the 6'' idler wheel if I need the 8" back on the grinder. The small wheel is the attachment that came with the grinder also.
