Good day,

I decided to pull the trigger on a 2x72.

I need to get a motor and vfd. A local classified has a kbac 24d for 100 bucks.

I know everyone recommends the kbac 27, but I want to be able to run the motor off 120v

This vfd will run a 1hp motor, but I don't know if it has to be wire up to 240v to power a 1 horse motor.

I plan on getting a 1hp 3 phase 1750rpm.

Will this vfd be able to power a 1hp motor off a 120v wall socket.

A 27d can be wired for 110 OR 220, and IIRC, 110 will push up to 1.5HP. That said, it's hard to beat the price of the 24, and that should work OK as long as you're not trying to push it off the bench. ;)

Get the 24 now and get a 1 HP motor.

Down the line, you will probably upgrade to a 1.5 or 2 HP and matching VFD. The current grinder one will either become the handle and finishing grinder, or the motor/VFD will run a disc sander.
