First post. Please excuse any stupid newbie questions/mistakes

I looking for a couple of new additions for EDC.
1. Folder
2. 3.0" Max Blade (Work Rule)
3. Sheeple Approved (Dont aggravate the Boss).

These three seem to have made my short list.

Kershaw Leek 1660 $32

Benchmade 440 Opportunist $89

Bradley Alias II 17650 $146

Opinions on these and any better options in the same price range.

Thanks!
Gene

Boker Stellar II
Just under 3" 440C blade
Titanium handles.

I have one - actually the wife has it - and it's worked out great. About $100 most places.

You can get a Kershaw leek with S30V steel and G10 handles for $82 at knifecenter.com.

That would probably be your best bet, if it's OK to have an assisted-opening knife where you live/work. I loved my Leek, and the textured G10 on the new Kershaw knives is excellent. With S30V steel, you will want for nothing more.

On the other hand, you can get a Kershaw Skyline... which doesn't use the SpeedSafe system, so it's more sheepie-friendly... and it's only $32 or so.

The good thing about both blades - they don't look particularly aggressive. They are not SAKs, but they aren't super-serrated, black, or super-recurved.

The S30V Native and the Delica 4 from Spyderco are both excellent knives and can be had for around $50.

Leek CB CPM D2. Very affordable ($55-60) and one heck of a slicer. Plus its svelt and sexy. You cant go wrong.

I suggest a stylish "classic damascus series" Mcusta, with damascus-like layered 2.75 blade. Small and highly refined.

Might I suggest the Leatherman e302? I EDC it to work (bank hq) on my belt everyday and it's never really raised any eyebrows.

It's 2.8" with a very convenient one-hand opening feature (that for some unknown reason Leatherman calls "Blade Launcher"). It's as fast as an AO, but I'm not sure it actually qualifies as an AO since it doesn't have any springs or torsion bars. The main reason I chose this one was because of the two screwdrivers & bottle opener, yet the knife itself is sturdier than a SAK.

They also make different models without the screwdrivers and in more expensive steels. This one ran me ~ $40 CAD at a local store.

Welcome to the forums:).

Benchmade:
Mini Griptilian
14210
960

Spyderco:
Caly 3 (zdp or VG-10 versions)
Delica (so many versions)
Kopa

Mcusta Take

Emerson CQC-14

Just go with a pretty sweet looking tactical folder of your choice and put hello kitty stickers on the grips to make it sheeple friendly

..and a cell-phone tinkerbell through the lanyard hole.

+1 Bradley Alias II

Leek sure is a great knife. I carry my delica almost every day - 3 inches, no assisted opening, and at a great price.

Also, if you're looking at boss approved, consider a swiss army knife - the alox ones last, look great, are cheap, and very friendly looking - a great gentleman/woman's knife. I carry a knife not for any form of self defense but just a tool, and my SAK/delica works great for that.

Case knives look classy too :)

Caly 3, Carbon fiber, zdp. It only weighs 3 ozs. It's as smooth as silk and slim to carry. The ZDP core will hold an edge a very long time, and the laminate 420j2 will keep it looking good for a long time.
