Can you help me find a knife with those specs? I would like a knife with thick handles. I also like bolsters. It can be a little longer than 4" closed, but no shorter than 3,5.

I hope you can help me find a production knife. It would be extra good if a dealer on bladeforums have some for sale.

My first stop. Many brands. Super fast shipping. I have ordered at least 11 knives from him. Really great guy, and does not hurt that his prices are the lowest I find on what he carries.

Two come to mind.

A couple of years back Schatt & Morgan released a line of knives called the Heritage Series. The 2011 knives included single blade jacks, in spear point and clip point versions. They were made with ebony and rosewood covers. Dealers still have some of the clip point knives. The spears can sometimes be found on the secondary market.

A little smaller at 3 3/8" are the TC barlows. The spears are all sold out, but clips are still available.

There is one thing I forgot to mention. I need to buy it from a store that can ship to Europe.

A couple of choices from Queen in Curly Zebra wood and D2 blades. Knifecenter carries them, and they're a BF member dealer.

Here's a sample vendor pic of the copperhead pattern (3.75" closed):

And a 'Teardrop Liner Lock' folder (also 3.75" closed):

They also appear to carry the Schatt & Morgan Heritage knives mentioned earlier (Ebony or Rosewood & 1095 steel; also 3.75" closed). Knifecenter's site indicates all these are in stock currently:

Here's a link to some info regarding their international shipping policies:

There's also the Utility knife by Queen (basically a single blade slimline trapper) at 4" closed. Longer than the teardrop or copperhead, but its slim nature might carry better than these other 2 that are wider.

A French knife, Le Garonnais by Le Sabot knives should sort the problem. Thick blackwood or Ebony handles, Sandvik steell rugged and of course, available in Europe!. There are some reviews of this knife recently.

#23 GEC sounds like it would fit your specifications. I live in Europe too, and know how annoying it can be getting knives shipped here. I'll send you a pm.

To add another alternative, I would take a look at the single bladed Boker copperhead with olive handles, which is sold in Europe as well :)

Catonsville Pocket & Pen Knife Company makes a rather inexpensive sheffield style knife, its carbon steel and takes a nice edge.

The Schatt & Morgan Heritage knife with a spear point is high on my list now.

Just need to find a store that ships internationally and accepts paypal, or find someone in the states to help me.

Overtech, what is the name of that exact knife?

I like your taste
also the GEC Ebony Boys Knife is very similar, if you can find one in spearpoint.. plenty of clip blades still.. same for the Charlows, the TC Barlows

> Opinel?

:-) my thoughts exactly

(I sense the OP wants a slab built knife, with liners, but…)

Ebony Opinel 8 review and pictures

or the much heavier, and with stainless liners, Le Garonnais

it goes by the very marketing savvy name "Rosewood Wharncliffe Wood Carving Pocket Knife" or "Rosewood Wood Carver's Pocket Knife"

It's not hard to find a Case Back Pocket (top knife in the photo). This one has ebony scales. Not exactly thick, but not slim either.

A GEC boys knife or a TC Barlow would be great to find. Especially with a single spear point blade. Will more spear points be available again?

The Le Garonnais is also on my list now. Starting this thread is going to cost me a lot.

Some of us have been attempting to parse out this picture currently in GEC's "What's Happening" page:

It looks like there might be more single-bladed spear somethings on the way. Maybe?
