I'm looking for another daily carry folder to fit between my Spyderco Sage1 and Endura:
--roughly 3.5" blade
--relatively compact for easy pocket clip carry
--No stainless handles
--less than $150

I've already owned a Benchmade 940 (which was great, but I sold it) and a Spyderco Stretch (a bit too big in-pocket). My first thought was a Spyderco Caly3.5, but I wanted to know if I was missing anything good.

Kershaw blur in S30V. it has a very thin profile. I carry it i my back pocket. the steel is good, the handles are grippy and comfortable, the scales are aluminum with inserts, and it is very nice for carry. if you don't like the assistance, i currently have mine with the assistance disabled becuase I prefer it that way. it is very smooth as a manual. the pocket clip is very nice and was not too tight on mine. it fits all the criteria. my other suggestion would be the ZT 0350, but I think it would not be defined as compact.

Caly 3.5 is a very cool knife that will fit your specs. I traded a G10 Endura for it and it's a great little knife - though not as little as the Sage 1 (had one and sold or traded it).

Spyderco's Paramilitary 2 and Manix 2 both fit that description to a T. If you already carry a couple of spydercos and like their design, those two might appeal to you.

Thanks for the suggestions so far! I used to own a Blur, but I found it too broad and slab-sided to carry comfortably. I was also considering the Paramilitary2, but I was wondering: how thick and broad is the handle and how does it carry in-pocket?

I find it carries quite well. I've been using it as my EDC knife lately and I don't find it hogs the pocket at all. The handle is about 1 and 1/8" wide at the widest point and just under 7/16" thick.

You might look at the Al Mar mini-SERE and Nomad. They have 3" blades and they're right at the top end of your $ limit. You could also check out the BM large Bone Collector (< $150) and their Rift (just over $150).

:D
you can get one for less than 15 bucks:)
8cr13mov, axis lock and g-10 handles!

I'd definitely recommend the Kershaw Blur. Lots of colors and steels. I got me a 420HC steel one for 40 bucks. The S30V version is about 70-80 bucks, but hey, I've had no problems with my 420.

**Sorry, didn't see that you said you already owned one :P

How about the Hogue EX01 with the 3.5 inch blade. It is very smooth and locks up solid! Good Luck! Kevin :D

Kershaw Skyline. 3 1/8 blade. Ultra light, never know it is in your pocket. Could be bad for the lose it factor though. I use the clip in clip it on my cargo pocket or r/s pants pocket. Holds tight and the g10 handle is a plus.

Can't go wrong for the price either.

+1 for the Hogue EX01. I have the 4" with black G-Mascus... it has quickly become my favorite carry. Hogue really hit it out of the park with this model.

A.G. Russell has an italian made titanium framelock with ATS-34 3.5 inch blade that's quite slim and light. It goes for right around $100. Might be worth a look.
