I'll get to my normal terms and conditions, but please read this first: I plan to sell these three knives this weekend. They're all marked down and priced to sell immediately (in my humble and wholly unimportant opinion), but if for some reason they don't sell today I'm going to mark them down tomorrow. If they're still around on Monday I'll mark them down again! If they're not sold by Midnight on Monday I'll..... Well, I'll worry about it then because I don't think it's gonna happen. These are not knives you're likely to get a second chance at any time soon, if ever, so buy now, or risk eternal regret!!! (I've been studying Jerry's marketing style
)
The first person to post I'll take it without contingencies and a follow up e-mail will receive purchasing priority.
Please ask any questions prior to making a purchase commitment. My top priority is a hassle free transaction. I'll be more than happy to provide additional / higher resolution photos and discuss questions via PM, e-mail, or over the phone. I've done my best to accurately describe the condition of the knives I'm offering for sale, but there's always the issue of process variation and manufacturing tolerances inherent to this type of product so please inquire if there are issues of particular importance to you.
I will accept payment via USPS Money Order, or PayPal ("Purchase" type only, I will not accept PayPal Gift) with a confirmed address per the pricing listed. That being said, please be aware that if you have less then 5 positives as a buyer on itrader (or any negatives) I will prefer a US postal money order. I will ship via USPS w/signature confirmation and provide insurance to CONUS only.
I'm not interested in any trades at this time.
I reserve the right to not do business with any individual without explanation. All sales are as is, where is and without warranty (except as provided by the manufacturer). All sales are final. By purchasing this item you are stating that you are 18 years of age or older and abiding by all local, state and federal laws concerning the purchase, transportation and possession of this item.
Busse Extraction Unit 17 (EU17) Mini #41: I purchased this knife from a fellow forum member who described it as follows: New and unused. Though true, it had an issue with the coating so I sent it in to the Busse shop. They gave the whole knife a satin finish and remarked it. Here's an excerpt from my e-mail exchange with Garth So you will have the only Custom Shop satin finished EU17. I am sure it will be the envy of all the other EU17 owners. As always Garth and his crew did a great job; this knife is not only rare, it's beautifully finished.
There's quite a bit of information on the EU series available. Here's a little about what I know and believe to be true: The mil-overrun Extraction Unit 17 series was introduced in 2004. The standard EU17 was first in the series (7 blade, 37 released). Next came the EU17 Magnum (9.5 blade, 28 released). The Mini EU17 was expected immediately after the Magnum as noted in this October 30, 2004 post by Jerry on the release of the Magnums: We will be posting the "GO" button here and on our website forum.... These should go pretty fast, I believe that there are only around 28 of these available. . . I will get an exact number for you tomorrow.... Look for the start of the action around 9:00 or 10:00 pm EST.... We might have the "Mini EU-17s" for you tomorrow night as well. . . not sure yet. We have VERY VERY few of those, certainly not enough to make a special offer of their own. However, they weren't released until two weeks later
, May 2, 2005. Here's what Jerry had to say in a post on April 29, 2005: The Mini EU-17 sports a 6 inch blade of INFI and simply floats in your hand! ! ! The Mini completes the trilogy of EU-17 models and just begs for a good old fashioned whoopin'!!! The blade spec (per Jerry, Aug 2004) is: Fatter than 1/4". . . Thinner than 5/16" . . .. Full height grind.

SRKW Bog Dog: Satin D2 Steel Blade and Mudder Handle. I purchased this knife in 2006. It's condition was described as new and unused I believe this description was accurate, but there are some finish imperfections (very fine scratches) that are visible when the light is right. The close up of the choil area clearly shows what I would describe as the area and lighting condition. Conversely the same type of imperfections aren't visible in the close up of the Swamp Rat logo because of lighting variance. I don't think it's a significant issue unless a presentation level finish is what you're seeking, which was not a manufacturing goal when these knives were produced. I've not used, or sharpened the knife since receiving it.
Here's some information on this knife:
Specifications per Eric Isaacson:
Steel D2
Rc 60-62
Blade Thickness 1/8" (I measure it at just under .150 right in front of the handle)
OAL approx 9 5/8"
Blade Length approx 4 1/2" (I measure it at 4 11/16 from the end of the handle to the tip)
Handle Resiprene C in our new "mudder" pattern

Eric Isaacson 5-12-04: I've got bad news on the Bog Dog.....because I couldn't get them all in the pic.... The performance we have seen from these blades is incredible, I will post more on this later, but suffice it to say that we are very happy with the D2 and our proprietary HT. I have confidence in saying these will be the highest performance 1/8" thick D2 blades on the market.... Thanks to everyone for your patience. We are shipping them all this week and should be able to fill all the backorders. There are a few people that will be receiving emails regarding payment info, otherwise you should have your BD by sometime next week.
Eric Isaacson 11-23-04: Here are the pics from the some of the testing we did on the Bog Dog and the Safari Skinner. Both of these knives had a Rockwell hardness of between 61-62. Remember that D2 is not supposed to have much lateral strength at that high of a Rc. Also it would normally chip out with extreme impacts to the edge as it is more of a cutter not a high impact steel. As the pictures show, the Bog Dog has a significant flex and the Safari Skinner pics were taken after a 275 lb Deputy Sheriff spent 1 1/2 hrs pounding on it with a hammer. The edge has rolled but is not chipped out like you'd expect (and even more important it isn't in pieces) and you can even see the area on the side of the blade where it was impacted with the hammer. When finished the hardened face of the hammer actually had gouges in it from the knife. These pics show that we have achieved a large amount of malleability of the edge(which is uncommon for D2). Also some makers don't think that D2 performance can be increased by a deep cryo treatment, I think that these tests prove differently. We have done testing on most of the other D2 blades out there from many many makers and none of them come even close to this level of toughness or durability. We do these tests so you don't have to. In the past, we have probably been overly cautious when discussing the abilities of our D2 blades, but now you can really see what they can do. We get this type of performance because of our proprietary Heat treat and deep cryo cycles. However, please don't try to break them just so you can say you did. Toughest D2 blades on the planet.
There's a lot more information on these knives out there, but I will add that this knife is very light weight (I measure 4.7 ounces), pretty rare these days, and, in my opinion, one of the most useful knives that's ever come out of the Swamp:$265 MO $250 MO $235 MO $220 MO 5/25 Price Drop: $205 USPS MO (+3.5% PayPal) SOLD
Busse Mil Overrun BATAC w/ Okuden Sheath: I recently acquired this knife in a trade. The prior owner claimed that it is new and unused, which I believe to be true. However, there is some very minor scuffing from being inserted in the sheath that can be seen in the photos below (the black dots that are visible in the photographs on the coating near the blade edge and the spine of the knife). In addition there is a small coating chip on the tip of the blade that is also visible in the close up photo below.
Here's what I know about this knife: It was sold during the 13th Knoboganzaaa on 11-3-07. Here's Jerry Busse's description of the knife from a bladeforums post on 11-1-07: Mil Overrun with custom color combo to match the new desert digi camo.... Very Cool!"
I was told by the prior owner that he was told by Jerry himself that this knife is 1 of 18 that were left over from a run of knives that were done for a Ranger Battalion. I have no way of knowing if this is accurate or not, but it's the information I was provided.
Back to what I know: The Magnum handle is G-10, reasonably thick and feels great in my hand. One of the best Busse handles I've owned. The blade thickness measures .195 on my calipers, just a hair over the 3/16 specification. The Okuden sheath is nicely made, which is typical, and it fits the knife very well. The lanyard seen in a couple of the pictures is included as well:$525 MO $495 MO $475 MO 5/25 Price Drop: $455 USPS MO (+3.5% PayPal) SOLD
