The trainer blades are identical without the edge and a rounded tip. They get the same heat treat as well.

Sooo... what keeps manufacturers from throwing different color materials into the slab grinding machine and selling replacement parts? Cell phone manufacturers make millions doing it. Knife companies, including Buck, make short limited runs of entire knives. Why not have brief runs of blue, green, red, etc, g10 slabs for a mini Strider that we can buy on the website and replace ourselves? I would think the profit margin on selling us 2 slabs of G10 for $20 or $30 would be pretty high when the machines are already there.
