3 Dot 110

Here's one that I would think should go for around $40 - $50 due to its condition. It's used but still good shape for its age. Let's see. ;)

I'll follow it...In fact, I'll bid on it...

But only if it stays under $34...(That's what some other guy is selling brand new ones for)... :)

I don't think we get too many knives from guys who buy them cheap on Ebay and send them in. By the time they pay for shipping twice, and the original purchase price is added in, they would have been better off buying one new. Who knows...

  Thought this was interesting as Joe just mentioned this possiblity a short time ago. Check out this posting and the descriptive comments by the seller.

Let's say you "Buy it now" for $10 and then had to pay the $5.98 shipping (to my zip code) You'd still have to pay to ship it to Buck for the warranty service. After all that, you'd be better off buying a new one for only a few dollars more and not have to wait. Why would anyone do this? However, this WOULD be a great knife for Trax to get for one of his projects. He could probably pick it up for the minimum $5.98 ;) ;)

That's kinda lame!

I know Buck is very generous with their warranty policy, but for the seller to advertise that one that way is crap.

 ...My thoughts exactly TLC...The guy has some notible "kahonies" to say something like that in his ad...I was thinking of Trax as soon as I saw the knife up for bids Mike...Hope he goes for it...If he doesn't, maybe I'll buy it and send it to him with an old file so he can make me an "Original Trax Mod. Special"...LOL...:D :D

A project like a slab-sided 112 with a drop-point 442 blade and black paper Micarta scales??? :p

Something like that, maybe??? :D Maybe a companion 110, sort of a set???

 ...Was just gonna buy that knife and send it off to Trax when guess what???...Someone named frogbait just got it...Gotta look fer another one now Trax...:D :D...I hope frogbait has the imagination that Trax has...

I wonder if someone tried to make a really big choli ........ did I speeall that right?

OK; I'll bite...What's a choli???  :)

I would have a hard time with the words to describe, so look at the curve/cutout in the bottom knife blade. I didn't know either till a while back.

Ah, the *choil*!!! :D

[see - http://www.knifeart.com/cusknifen.html ]

In all honesty, I didn't know what a choil, or a kick, or a scale were until last year...

Yes, there's a Buck 110 with a big choil in the blade on eBay right now (link thanks to Mike/Darryl) -

Yes, now there's a *choil*!!! I gotta say, when I looked at this pic, all I could think of was a drunk biker taking a big hammer and a 3/4" bolt and... :D

It's close enough...I just don't have enough caffeine yet...and sugar... :D

heh, heh...I thought a "choli" or "chollie" or "charlie" was some new slang for a blade shape...like on the Buck Combat Smatchet... :) ;)

BTW: that top knife of yours has a choil, too; just smaller...

Here's one for you Darryl...$14.92, and 7 bids...Buck 112 w/2 3/4" blade...it lost 1/4" somewhere, and it looks it... :D

7 bids but only 4 people...This is a junker; why do these people want it???

An hour and a half left; the frenzy hasn't even started yet...How much you wanna bet this thing goes for more than a WallyWorld 110???

I don't know what's happening here or anywhere on Ebay lately Trax...All I know is something that Mike said a while back...something like ..."...set your bid at the max you want to pay and forget about it..."...Seems like a buncha folks are actually getting a rush (not the knife) out of the bidding process for these knives. May the Lord bless 'em...I unfortunately can't afford to get caught up in the bidding for such knives as the one you just referred to or any knife for that matter. That knife was made in '88 and it looks like it went thru the Civil War and didn't quite make it, and it will probably sell for just what you said...too much. The knife Mike was bidding on was an "anomaly"...You don't see that happen too often. That was indeed a work of art and love by Mr. Buck himself. Mike did the best he could and that was that. Mike is not a speculator, he loves knives and buys what he wants. I believe it's the speculators who are doing this to Buck knives and are buying up all they can and thus they will drive up the prices to what they want to see. I'm sure you'll start to see those same buyers putting those same knives up for sale soon. Keep an eye out for some of them. I will too, but I won't be buyin'...Can ya tell I haven't posted much today??...This is enough for 2 or 3 days huh?...LOL...
