You could check out the Vox prymate.Boker makes a collaboration version also.Johnny Mac might have something that would intrest you.Daniel Fairly makes some great small fixed blades.He just might have something laying around he would sell ya.Email him he's a good guy.
 
It's not as sexy as some of the knives suggested but it costs a lot less than your max price. I carry a Case XX Small Finn Hunter Knife Model CA379. I've carried it something like 15 years and used it to cut everything from cardboard to wood to various kinds of plastic...and worse. I've stripped wire, cut wire and probably done some prying (as the tip has a slight bend (you have to hold it up and look close but it's there). It's only about $40 but it's been durable and done what I've needed (I was a commercial refrigeration tech). Like I said, not a sexy knife or anything but it's worked well.
 
I plan on holding a few at blade but I want a good idea what I want before I get in there, I kinda want better edge retention than Aus 8 thanks for all the suggestions so far!

Mine is a Dozier AT with D2. He'll have alot of blades at 3" at the show, but he quit making the AT.
You may be thinking of the Boker Dozier AT that uses AUS-8.
