3 Inch and Under Mid/High-end Flipper EDC Recommendations

Do a Google search for "Rod Olson Quick Flick" and you'll find an outfit where I got mine and they have some in stock. It's still my favorite small flipper. BladeHQ also sells it as the Rod Olson M9 but they're out of stock.

Ram, these are listed as out of stock. Haven't seen the 3-inch size for a while.

In my opinion this is the up there with some of the worst suggestions I have seen on Blade Forum. This guy carries a Sebenza and wants something classy to put in a coin pocket. Look at this clip and style! I am not saying this due to price. I actually recommended a less expensive option above, but because he likes a Hinderer design.

FUGLY!!!

I agree. That clip is horrendous. I could imagine that in my coin pocket, constantly getting stuck under my belt every time is sit down. So many better Kershaw options for that cost.....

Production:
Spyderco Dice
A.G. Russell Gentleman's Flipper
Brous Blades Caliber
Boker Impetus

Mid-Tech/Custom:
Galyean Small JYD If you can find one
Doc Shiffer Small Recon Flipper
Brad Zinker Mini Tanto Flipper
Brad Zinker Medium Framelock Flipper
Tim Britton Tango 2
Scot Matsuoka Small Pahinui

Olson quick flick is a great knife, love mine.
The Curtis F3 compact has small handle, hate mine.
The Hinderer 3" is very nice, love it. Not a great flipper, but it works as such.
The AG Russel Acies 2, although not a flipper, is really nice.
The Rubicon is not as thin as any of these, but neat nonetheless.

Except for the Curtis, I like any of these better than my small Sebenza.

The Kershaw Skyline is a great flipper despite the lower end materials.

Here are a few i would recommend.... jason brous bionic 2.0. The bionic 2 is a great edc knife. 3 inch flipper on bearings super smooth. Its a liner lock which im not a big fan of but made an exception for this knife. One of my favorites its super lightweight with a perfect blade for edc, runs about $200. The kizer ki3404a3 is a ti framelock with a 3 inch blade. Evan though its made in china im not kidding that it is the smoothest flipper i own and it doesnt evan have a bearing pivot. Flips better Than any other flipper i own evan ones with bearings. The fit and finish could be better but for about $100 its one of the best deals you can get for a flipper. The spyderco dice is great too i dont like the carbon fiber so i had a g10 scale made. The dice is great one of my favorites. I think that if you bought an xm-18 3" you would be very pleased. I just pulled the trigger and bought my first and fell in love so much i bought a second. They are worth every penny.

The 3" Hinderer price is lowest it's been for a while on secondary market. There are several listed on the exchange and nobody is showing interest. Now might be a time to make somebody an offer. I suspect some of these were bought at msrp with intention of flipping them for a quick profit.

Yes! I've watched prices over the last year or two, and there does seem to be a lot out there, for a lot less. In some cases, dealers are listing brand new knives below what some folks are asking on the Exchange.
