Knife # 1
This knife is basically a full tang Bowie knife. During the design, I focused quite a bit of attention to the handle construction. I wanted it to fit my hand like it was molded to it, and pretty much succeeded! The mesquite wood handle construction has a "coke bottle" shape to it, and "locks" into place once you grip it. You won't want to put the knife down once you've picked it up! The balance is perfect, right at the plunge line. The swedge/clip was given a good polish, and the flats and blade bevels are contrasting, hand rubbed, satin finishes. The spine is also polished. The edge geometry is also great, but it's obviously not going to be quite as thin as a smaller hunting knife or kitchen knife. Still, prior to sharpening the edge width was only 0.010" ***. There are a LOT of commercial kitchen knives that aren't even that thin at the edge. This is NOT a sharpened pry bar! This knife is meant to do just about anything...from dispatching a tomato to dispatching a tomato thrower! The hardness after tempering is ~62HRC, a great combination of strength and toughness for this alloy. This is one of my favorite knives made so far. I hate to sell it, but that's what I do this for...so YOU can enjoy it!
(***prior to sharpening, the edge width remained 0.010" completely to the plunge line. unlike many other knives that don't have a sharpening choil, the edge does not get thicker at the plunge. it is as easy to sharpen this area as the rest of the edge. if you would like a sharpening choil added, I will be more than happy to do so for you no charge.)

This is a design I was playing around with because I thought it looked cool! It's just an all around "user". While the spine is thicker than most of the stock I use, don't think this is a "sharpened pry bar"! The full flat grind was taken down thin at the edge, and is about 0.015" at the edge shoulders! The steel is German tungsten alloyed O-7 (DIN 1.2519), which is both extremely tough and has good wear resistance. 1.2519 is often used in the production of band saw blades. Much like 15n20 uses nickel for toughness, O-7 series steels use tungsten for toughness and aiding in wear resistance. The handle is a beautiful piece of stabilized walnut, "wet sanded" for a nice satin finish. The blade also is hand rubbed for a clean satin look. This knife is equally at home slicing BBQ as it is in the field doing "bushcraft" work!

Knife # 3
This is a little paring knife that was designed from the get go to be a little light sabre in the kitchen. Starting off with thin 0.050" 52100, it was given a full flat shave down to a "zero" edge and then backed off just a tad to establish a flat for the actual cutting edge. This knife was meant to be thin thin, but not so much that it flexes too much. The 52100 steel was given a meticulous heat treatment to bring out what it has to offer, and after grinding was hand rubbed to a nice satin finish. The handle is a nicely figured piece of Eucalyptus wood that has beautiful color. The handle is shaped in such a way that you can set it down on it's spine and it won't tip over. I like this because the edge is contacting the countertop when it's sitting there. It is extremely light, VERY light as a matter of fact! This knife resembles what I like in a paring knife. Just the right size, various grip styles can be used comfortably, and the blade is thin with a very thin grind. Plus, it is razor sharp! Everyone should own one of these knives!
