Great work by Kumar who makes the best handles coming out of BirGorkha and fine work by village sarki who can make a scabbard as well as any sarki in Nepal.

Those are beautiful, Uncle Bill! If i didnt have to pay on my motorcycle insurance i'd have one of those. as a matter of fact, if they dont disappear quickly then i might have to charge it:)

just beautiful!

All beautiful, but that horn sure caught my eye...awesome! Fine though...with the Bura sword, I'm now into my knife money until December anyway...December '05 that is...

Can someone explain this knife design to me? I don't understand the function of the ring or the overall shape.

ok i give. e-mail sent..... wife-to-be is gonna kill me:)

the kerambit is a traditional phillipino knife - mostly for self defense. This one is actually a hanshee-kerambit. Has a broader blade and is much beefier than your everyday slasher.

We should probably be calling it the khu-rambit......:D

Put your pinky in the ring for forward grip, index finger in the ring for reverse grip.

Bill - the wood/horn on these is absolutely stunning. Give Kumar a bonus! !

Yeah give Kumar a bonus. Also, Dan said he'd pay for mine since it was his handy-work in the design process that made me lust after it:)

A kerambit is usually used reverse grip, forefinger through the ring. I think the design is an old Indonesian one that is used in pentjak-silat. I have one without the pretty wood, and it makes a great concealled carry blade, if you like reverse grip. You can also use it with a sabre grip, little finger through the hole.

Those are absolutely cool. I've started and erased 2 emails so far.

Must resist.

Actually, the Kermambit is Malaysian not Filipino.

Did the carved Sandalwood one come in?

All gone..........
#$^$%^&!!!! Dammit I don't even like the kerambit and I was set to buy one of these... My feeding frenzy is so out of practice!! I'm going to ignore work and just sit here hitting refresh for the rest of my days. If my 2 YCSs come in in that wood and that horn I would probably faint!
