I'm wondering if someone would trade their 3" flipper for a 3" non flipper with an acid washed blade
This isn't a trade I'm just wondering if someone would do that because I'm thinking about acid washing the blade of one once I receive it because they said it had some light scratches on the blade

No, I wouldn't personally. Besides, acid washing your blade will void your warranty. Scratches add character, if you want it restored eventually, send it to Hinderer Knives and they will return it to like new and freshly sharpened at minimal cost.

Ok thanks for the feedback

As RDA pointed out, don't modify your XM. As long as you keep it original the crew at RHK have your back. If you use your knife the blade is gonna get scratched. Get used to it. Take a look at my Gen 1 when I got it. Well used is an understatement. I sent it to RHK and they cleaned her up real good.

How much does something like that cost?

For a while they were not doing refinishing or "spa" services, right? I think I read it was a volume issue. It appears that is back up and running again. It's nice to know that you can use your knife to it's fullest and when it needs it, you can send it in and make it new again!

All good info. take the time (C.o.D. can wait:)) read the links RDA referenced. Take the time to peruse the forum and read.
Before you concern yourself with Refurbishing, Modding or Warranty threatening activities - get to know your knife (safely)
When permissable, carry it - use it - disassemble/clean/lube and reassemble it - then do it again.
Read and learn how to properly sharpen and maintain it.
If unsure or before you take any big steps - do as you have been doing - ASK.
We are here to provide input and guidance.
Most of all, be safe and have fun.

Oh, and do good in school! :)

All I do with my 3" is use it, then use it some more. Someday it will get some scraches and that will be very nice. As "Maude" said (in the movie Harold and Maude" "if you don't have any scars what are you going to talk about in the locker room". Really great old movie.

Young man you need to slow down, I see you slammed LoneWolfe on the feedback section of the forum and did a negative video slandering to boot! Is this the knife that had scratches on it that we're disclosed to you? Lone Wolfe offered to do a reserve trade, but you went ahead and bashed him anyway.

On the Hinderer sub forum we are a tight family that helps each other out, and work out our differences. When I first saw your unboxing I had the impression that you were a very impatient adolescent. Please don't take this wrong but some professional help may be in order.

You owe him a big time apology !

LW is actually a "Her" (and I mean that as a compliment as well as a reality).
As FO stated - WE are tight on RHK so please, Isaac make it right.
No time to learn like the present that "Respect" is observed until proven to not be well placed.
Nuff said.

He's 13, but he did apologize to me, both publicly and privately. Thank you for looking out for me.

He did come back with an apology, and decided to keep the knife inspite of my offer to pay return postage. I think he's earned a bit of respect for eating him humble pie like a (young) man.

And thank you, Rubicon. Now all we need is a smiley of me batting my eyelashed at you men. :D

Wow, I just read through that nonsense, that thread was quite the dichotomy of how to handle things the wrong way and how to handle things the right way. Nice work Lone_Wolfe, you handled that situation very well.

Lone-Wolfe apologies on the gender mistake, you are a very kind and forgiving individual. You have 43 positive feedbacks w/no negative feedbacks speaks volumes for your integrity and fair play!

I understand about the apology thing, however in life there are also consequences for your actions, he needs to either impose a voluntary ban on himself from the forums or should have a mandatory ban until he socially grows up.

In the words of Rubi "Nuff said."
