I wouldn't acid wash the blade to remove scratches, I've seen guys regrind or acid wash their blades but only because they liked the way it looked or to make it perform better. If you do it I would only do it because you liked the look.
If your only worried about scratches I would just use the heck out of it for as long as you can then after you save up $65 send it to Rick & your knife will come back looking like new & sharp.
There's too many things that can go wrong with acid on a blade & if your inexperienced you will likely end up with a loose gritty pivot & late lockup.
