3 ply black cording needed!

Anyone have any idea where to find some cord in black - 3 ply and not made of cotton? I want it in the 1/16 - 1/8" thickness range. Something like this stuff to wrap a handle in where epoxy resin will soak in and not cause it to look all gummy looking as cotton will look. This stuff would be perfect, but it's 3 bucks a yard which is a bit ridiculous! I want it nice and round like this stuff and not all odd shaped like some cord comes in. I also want it rather dense when squeezing with the finger tips.
