I’m a part-time knifemaker. I’ve been making knives for about a year and a half. I cut and grind with an angle grinder and then use files to smooth and flatten the bevels. Then sandpaper.
These knives are made from Aldo's 1084 steel, heat treated by me in my homemade propane forge. The steel was normalized 3 times, heated again and quenched in canola oil and tempered for 2 hours at 400 degrees.
I use West Systems G Flex epoxy for gluing on the scales.
Blades are stamped with my initials AF. Andy Freedberg.
The leather is 8/9 ounce veggie tanned from Tandy. I use the saddle stitch. Belt loops made for 1 ½” belt.
My knives are in the hands of hunters and enthusiasts and I’ve received good feedback. I also do my own testing to ensure a good product.
Prices include shipping within the US by Priority Mail.
I prefer Paypal.
First “I’ll take it.” Please follow-up with PM or email.
Blade measured to beginning of scales. Handles tend to be on the shorter side because my hands are medium sized. Check measurements.
These knives have some imperfections, asymmetries, blemishes, etc. I think my prices reflect this. They were made to the best of my ability. If you aren’t happy with the knife, contact me right away and you can send it back.
