1) Knife. Got that covered.

2) Watch. That too.

3) Light. Have one, yet not too convienent to always carry with you.

I came across this product, maybe some of you too, and was wondering what everyone's thoughts are. It is quite expensive, and the lights brightness and coverage are questionable considering the size. But, it is very convienent to carry, and I do like the various styles offered. Anybody ever review this?

Wait until you see the lights.

Considering if you beleive it is worth shelling out the $$$ for this, and it functions as good as the site claims, it might be worth it for me. I like the idea of always having a light when you need one. Plus it combines into something you already need and carry everyday.

Neato for sure , especially if one wears it with a all black unitard and balaclava. :D
$500 though ?? I'll stick to the "watch" on my cell phone.

1 - wife
2 - blanket

That's it... Pillow is nice, but not not critical. Alarm clock, sometimes, but I hate hearing them go off.

geez 500 bucks? does it tell the future too?:jerkit:

I've seen some negative opinions on it - here or on CPF.
They mostly went about "write 'tactical' on it and charge 400 $ more".

Also this:

"RECHARGE: Each recharge lasts for approximately one month with an average of one dial illumination and one external illumination per day."

My Luminox lasts 5-10 years, my CMG Sonic 40 hours (that is 14400 10-second-illuminations).

- Sleep. Something I should be getting right now. ;)

I might add "gun" to that list....

Ok, we will:

  1. Hugging Pillow
  2. Snoopy stuffed dog
  3. Air Conditioning running
  4. Gun

Got it!

I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned a nightcap yet? I like a nice nip of scotch before bed... or maybe a Manhattan... or some port or sherry or brandy.

"If you only knew the things I have seen in the darkness of night ..."

It's easy enough to get a small, bright flashlight, making a watch like that just not worth the cost. Also, the more functions on a gadget, the more chance of one of them making the whole unit break down.

Hey, that's what I'm wearing right now. Mom made it for me, and it also includes a trap door in the back so I can go number 2 without having to take the whole thing off. :p

Wow, that watch is so tactical that the ordinary person can't even read the specs. :jerkit:

Learn to make a webpage, fools.

That aside, I suppose that the lights on the watch might be useful as an emergency backup, but I'd rely on a proper light myself. Not to mention the awkwardness of twisting your wrist when you want to use it. At the very least a Photon microlight on the keychain would be a better light to carry with you, better yet an Arc AAA-P. These are enough for most any situation where you'd need a small flashlight (as opposed to say, a Surefire or something larger) and on the keychain are definitely small enough to not be inconvenient.

I don't need much so here goes

1. Good Mattress
2. Air Conditioning
3. My wife (please don't tell here that she is third on my list):foot:

2 tactical dudes are behind enemy lines. 1 turns to the other and asks what time it is. Other tactical dude lights up his nifty-difty Special Forces watch and says "0400 hours."

Enemy tactical dude up on a ridgeline who spotted the light says "Gotcha!"

As far as the watch goes, if you like the features, but would like a cheaper version (same features, just different case, dial, etc); look at Dakota Watches. They have a model called the Dakota REQ Torch LED Light & Watch. It's MUCH cheaper than the model you mentioned, and it does the same thing- works the same way and recharges the same way as well.

IMHO, if I were in the market for something like that, I'd go with the Dakota as its not likely to be any worse/less stable than the expensive one.

I have a PEAK 7-LED light in my nightstand, and that serves me well enough. Far as my nightly needs, I need:

1. Wife (see, I put HER first on my list because I like having the rest of the things on this list :D )
2. My Spongebob pillow
3. My Body pillow
4. Comforter
5. AC
6. CD player
7. Good book.

All the rest is gravy, but I thought I'd answer your question, at least. Hope it helps!

Yeah thanks Spyderjon, I'll check them out.

It dose seem a too expensive to splurge on.

Halfneck, funny. I also I thought about if this watch was actually used by mikitary personel, or just was actually marketed towards the type with a little money but no real militarty experience or knowledge.

I myself am a guy who loves gadgets, blame James Bond for that, and seems to always find myself in a situation where I need a light but never have one. Might just take others advice here and go for a keychain or pocket light. Just trying to cut down on the amount of 'ish' I carry, otherwise I might end up needing a utility belt.

seems like most of you don't live in a safe place?
(because they need a gun at night... *just wondering*)

We live in a very safe country to sleep in. Home invasion is almost unknown in the US, except among immigrant communities where people don't keep guns.
