The title is taken directly from Spark's sticky. I am not calling out anybody but wanted to address an issue I have been having recently more than it should. Most of the times, I run into the issue of a bad description from sellers via Craiglist and other venues for sale. I have learned to expect that from the folks on there. On the forums though, I usually take the seller/trader at their word. If someone says NIB or LNIB, I usually wont even ask for an in depth photo if I already know what the knife looks like. I think the suggestion that Spark put up should really be heeded. When a seller/trader puts a knife up, be slightly critical on the flaws of your knife. When I put a knife up for sale/trade, anything short of flawless gets a "good" rating, with me pointing out every hairline scratch or ding. I almost always have the recipient of my knives saying that, to them, the knife looks NIB even though I described it a marked up. I have never had an issue with someone refusing to make good on a deal, but it really is unpleasant to have to blow $10-$15 to send and return a knife for both parties, when a critical description could have had all of it avoided.
