Looks a lot like a roman gladius, only curved in the middle. I wonder if the gladius was modeled after Greek weaponry.

Wouldn't be the first time the Romans "borrowed" something from Greek culture...

exactly. Even their gods were similar. They patterned themselves after the greeks in many ways including their form of warfare.
