Has there ever been a 300 series (specifically a 301 or 307) knife done in carbon steel at any point?

I think a flat grind 301 in 5160 (does Buck currently offer any other carbon steels?) would be pretty cool. Traditional all the way around.

Merry Christmas, everyone 🥳

None that I know of. I think Schrade and Camillus used 440a.
If we can go to the mid/late 1940's, (Hoyt) Buck would reblade pocket knives with his own carbon steel blades.

I didn’t think so, I like the idea though. I don’t think we will ever see carbon steel blades on a slipjoint.

It would be nice, but, since Buck never made most of the 300 Series, Buck doesn't have the tooling to make them. /Bert
Just for fun.

I've always preferred lock-back knives, or fixed blades. I own a few slip joints, mostly gifts from friends and family over the years, but I've never really carried them. The 303 that I picked up recently has made me take an interest in the 300 series, but I admit I'm ignorant as far as models go. Could someone take a photo or two, and label the different models? Perhaps the first 10 or so? Just trying to get an understanding, so that I'll know what to look for. Thanks!

In the stickies at the top of this bBuck sub forum there’s a sticky on the 300 series that shows a picture of the models with name and number by each . It’s on page two post #37 I believe. It shows most of them.
