300 series

The Buck 303 Cadet is a very nice size for pants pocket carry, while also offering all the blade you need for most tasks. I like the look and balance of them, this selection all stainless steels of various types. OH

The 303 is a good size knife. I always tend to gravitate toward the bigger knives for some reason, but I agree the 303 is all the knife a man would need for most cutting tasks. I do enjoy carrying one on occasion, usually in the 5th pocket.

Talking about the 300 series, I nearly forgot about our beloved forum knife as well. I think they came out nice. This one is a bit lighter so I made it a user.

They already have the patterns and molds, they do flat grinds very well, all they need to do is throw some 1095 or 5160 on the machine instead of stainless ;) 😁

I picked up this 301 from the 'bay. I really like the size, and being a 92 model it is from the same Era as my little 303 (which I've been enjoying lately). Unfortunately, the previous owner has never heard of oiling 🙁. All three blades feel very sticky opening and closing.

Would this one be a good candidate for the Buck SPA service? All of the parts are there, and seem ok other than the obvious rust. I mainly want it to function as it should so I can use it. Thanks for reading, I appreciate any input.

I’d send it in if I were you, they’ll be able to work some magic on it and you’ll have a surprisingly fresh knife when you get it back. Nice grab

Absolutely, if they were carbon steel or even Bucks standard 420HC I'd have absolutely bought one.
I prefer easy sharpening steels so I wasn't interested.

Nice - are those all the same pattern / different scales ?
Yes. Those are all 303s. One example of each "catalog" knife from the beginning. From memory - Top left is Schrade made, top right and 2nd left are Camillus variations. The 2nd right is a Camillus with stag from the custom shop. The rest are all buck chronologically from top left to bottom right. I believe all but 2 are NIB. I lost interest before finding those. The one for sure missing is the Painted Pony - Rhinestone Cowboy. I just couldn't bring myself to spend the money on it...lol
