200 meters wr surely not enough for me. i hope 300 will solve problem. the title SIA. thnx

Showering is terrible for watches.

Soap lowers the surface tension of water, making it easeir to slip past the seals.
Warm water heats the case and makes the air expand, which can slip past the seals (they are designed for water pushing in, not air pushing out)
When the air cools it causes lower pressure inside the case, which can suck a bit of soapy water past the seals. Causing your problem (or it could be the warmth/lower pressure causing moist air in the watch to condense on the inside of the glass - there will always be moisture inside the watch, unless its oil filled or purged with nitrogen or other gas before being sealed after a battery change)

Take your watch off when you shower and the problems should stop.

Exactly. The heat and soapy water also tend to degrade and remove the gasket grease which helps seal the watch.

Oh crap, I have not showered with my watch luckily but couple of times. This applies to ISO standard diver watches too?

all watches.

good dive watches should resist it a bit better, but the same mechanism for water leakage applies to all watches.

my Ecozilla is marked "300m, Professional Divers" and the shower is the only place i don't wear it.

Yeah the Sinn UX(or other hydro-filled models) is the only dive watch I know of that even has a chance of making it through showering, but its still a bad idea even then. Some cheap watches will have cases so open that they'll just vent the steam, I had an invicta that did that until the movement became so corroded that it seized.

Budget watch suggestion: Timex, whichever catches your eye, they have good looks and are about as expensive as a quartz watch should be.

I've taken all 3 Rolex watches I have owned into those environments with no issues. Maybe having a depth rating of 12,800' makes a difference?

Take a look at Deep blue watches, they have a 40% off sale going on and are good watches. 500 meter watch, swiss movement, synthetic sapphire crystal, 199.00

That's a great tip, I'm actually going to look at those, this one has been a good one for me it I've never gone anymore than 100 feet below the surface. Never showered with it either, just rinsed it off with cold city water after diving. Can't dive no more though. I don't even know if they make this model. I would look at casios also, they have some tough watches, I don't know about water resistance.

THANKS for explanation. anyway, washing hands made the same, before i started to showering with it after months.
PLEASE CAN ANYONE TELL what exact oil model is good to fill the pro trek 250 ? i have problem with that one. thanks

Things you learn everyday.. Good to learn them now than too late!

This would explain why my Vostok Amphibia is waterproof sitting in a glass of water but gets condensation inside the crystal after I've showered while wearing it.

Good information; thanks.
