As a kid growing up on a farm in rural Idaho these advertisements seemed like they were written just for me.

The first one is interesting in that the likelihood that BUCK (Schrade) used 440c, what was used in the hunting knives, in any pocket knives at that time was highly unlikely.

Hi peppercorn from Australia,
I love those 1966 Schrade 301 knives, I can see why they are hard to find - after seeing your line-up.
My son likes the Camillus 301, I have to lock my small collection of 301 away, when he is about...Ken

G'day! koldgold.....

I can't resist practicing my best Aussie accent impression.

Your collection is very impressive to say the least and must account for keeping our two hemispheres balanced, on some level.

I must say I've always enjoyed your posts and have frequently cross referenced them over in the Schrade subforum in my 'sorting out process' when it comes to these old 301s, the timelines, what Schrade was doing at said time and so forth.
I could've said that much more clearly but I hope you get the jest of it.

You know, in a strange way, I find it comforting knowing that you have so many examples of these great, in my mind at least, examples of fine early American cutlery all the way down there.

Maybe if we ever manage to self destruct you can pull one or two of your finest out and show folks what a great nation was capable of at one time.
