303 date?

I just won off Ebay a Cadet with the long nail pull for $15. Its Marked Buck 303 USA. Does anyone know date range on it?Schrade or Camillus contracted??

Your Cadet is a Camillus made, circa 1971/1972 through 1984. I would have to know more construction details to ascertain a more exact era in that range. By the way, all Schrade made 303 and 301 models are stamped BUCK / MADE IN / U.S.A. as are all early Camillus contract 300 series models. Camillus made knives have a pivot pin in the bolster(s) while Schrade made contract knives were made without the pivot pin.

Thanks. I really like the long nail pulls.Looking forward to getting it. Heres a question for Joe Houser Or Mr.Buck or anyone else.Why did Byck do away with the long nail pull?They look so much nicer.

Buck has always done the crecent shaped nail pull so when they started makeing the 300 series in house, they just kept doing it.
