Does anyone have a list of handle scale options offered for the 305 over the years ?
So far I just know of the standard black valox, brown bone, yellow delrin, wood with brass bolsters, and I have seen one in elk stag.
Did they do a 305 in the chairman series ?
Were any of the 305 clipper colors used on the 305 lancer ?

IGNORE THIS. THESE ARE 309S. Buck did do a 309 Chairman Series, also a smooth red Delrin (Valox), and a green paper stone for B&C. I do not have a list for the 305s.

I hope they didn't because that means more work if I want to acquire them all, but damn that green paperstone looks great and if they did do 305 I'll definately have to find one.

A quick Google search shows that they did do the 305 lancer red valox, and the chairman series.
I couldn't turn up an example of green paperstone.

There are two versions of the charcoal, with and without exposed rocker rivet.
2 versions of jigged red bone, one plain and one with engraved bolsters.
2 versions of the red Valox, smooth and sawcut. Interesting aside, Buck only did the smooth 309 and not the sawcut.
Smooth black delrin. Low production experimental.
If you get picky I can think of many variations of the standard black valox.
1 spring vs 2 spring. Brass liners vs 1 pc nickel silver frame. Flat grind vs hollow ground. Various different tang stamps.
If we include scissors, (6) 305's and (4) 306 Duets.
Not sure how many but there are 305 variations using the Wenger scissor.
Did anyone mention the smooth yellow Delrin ComfortCraft verison yet? Yellow sawcut Valox?

There was an older thread on 305's back in 2013.
Unfortunately PukeBucket ruined alot of the links but some of the pics are still there.

The 306 duet that's it , I forgot about the 306 but I definitely remembered a more recent " 305 with scissors "
Somehow my mind focused on the 305 clipper which obviously wasn't recent and I figured I was mistaken.

I am not looking to go crazy with all the fine details as I've already noted 3 major blade differences in just the 3 I have had, that's more involved than I care to be.

I was just thinking of trying to maybe get an example of every " flavor " if you will of my favorite Buck model, not the various generational differences just the different options they chose to release over the years.

Than you have to include all the different stamp variations. Now you should be able to fill a whole display case full of 305's. Good luck.

I'm not looking to go crazy with variants of every version, let's pretend it was a single series designed to collect and the only differences were handle / related.

For example I have a black valox 305, I don't need any other black valox 305's.
I have a brown bone 305, I don't need any other variants of brown bone 305.

I just want to simplify it, a halfassed sort of " collection " I suppose. ( I'd pocket and use them like all my knives which are well cared for without abuse )
I love the 305 and would just like to acquire all the versions of it that appeal to me.

Black valox
Brown bone
Red bone
Yellow
Red
Stag
Chairman series
Brass + diamond wood
Grey diamond wood
probably a 306 or two
And whatever ever other cover options there have been that I like.

I just have 3. A modern black delrin, 1988 yellow delrin with original box, and 1989 factory stag with original box.

The 306 Duets were in the catalog for 1 year only, 2011. They were available in 4 handle materials, black sawcut, gray dymondwood, yellow and pink delrin. There must not have been very many sold because I never see them for sale today. Like the 305 Clipper sold in the early 90's, they were both based on the 305 Lancer.

2011 only ?
That is the only date code I was seeing.

Theres one currently available for a very reasonable price on the bay , but I don't like pink ( pink scales, and Camillus versions I won't be acquiring ).

FWIW, here's one I photographed at the local knife shop two years ago. The box says:
Buck Clipper
MODEL
305S4

Yes the 305 clipper, I think only available in '89-'90 or around there.
About the same as the 306 duet from 2011, but seems to have been intended for keychain carry to compete with the Victorinox classic.
