320 Precinct

...first of all, it's all about marketing when it comes to names. Give the knife a silly title, but make it one you will remember (AFCK comes to mind...) and you're there. Second, I don't care for the lines of this model either, but it Is different. I often think we've run out of names for things, but the 'Precinct' is something sixth graders would love.

Is it sad that I am looking forward to an m390 (or wallet forbid) m2 or m4 version...

Yesterday I received my 320 Precinct. After a day to take it in my impressions are very favorable. What stands out the most is the light weight, and despite it being a smaller size folder the handle is just long enough to fill my hand with a comfortable grip. Really good ergo's for my hand. I'd sum it up as a small knife / blade that feels a lot larger then it is and I say that in a good way.

Very good, solid build quality. The F&F on the one I have is excellent. Solid lock up, very sharp, even grinds all around. No complaints there.

I think the short review by Derrick of KSF is spot on.

Except the one I have requires no wrist action to flip the blade open. Strong detent and flips great.

Only complaint is the absence of a thumb stud. Even on flippers I like the option of slowly opening the blade in a controlled manner and not having to use the flipper in all instances. Not a deal breaker by any means, just personal preference and I knew this prior to buying.

Overall a very nice knife from the 2016 line up. No problem recommending this one.

All the best!

Adjustable stop pin...

Got mine yesterday. Nice action for an inexpensive and lightweight flipper. Caged bearing rings (reddish in color) inside similar to the blue, KVT bearing rings but smaller. Easy to disassemble & perfect it's action & lockup. Deploys quickly & smoothly...and lock up has an authoritative "thunk" sound due to a little extra weight in the blade. I did reduce some of the lock bar pressure. Flips even easier & just as fast if not faster, no wrist required. The jimped liner lock is still a little uncomfortable for one handed closing but tolerable. Price point makes it one to enjoy, carry & use for everyday everything. Insanely grippy g10 scales. Flipper tab makes deployment easy & also makes an effective finger guard for thrusting/piercing. This definitely does lock well into the hand. Overall, feels very solidly built. I'd say you get a good amount of bang for the buck with this one. (I added the mirror polished edge.) Slices really well!

Yup, deciding between this and the 940-1. Got the 20% off plus my dividend, so it should take a nice chunk off either

The thing is on bearings? Crap. I had hoped it was on standard washers. I just feel like bearings on any knife are making it unnecessarily complicated. I have Benchmade's on large PB washers that are smoother than some knives I've felt on bearings.

It locks into my hand great, plenty or real estate for the pinky to lock onto...and I wear lg size gloves. And...after owning it & flipping if for several days it's gotten even smoother. It's really nice, fast, smooth and solid, build quality and ergos. Plus it takes a hell of a sharp edge pretty easily. I'm really happy with it now, carry it and use it. Took a quick shot in the hand so you can see...

Thanks. You have a very massive-looking hand. I wasn't excited about similar shape on handle in BM 950, so I removed from handle that horn thing near pinky.

How's tang in that knife? Isn't it weakened by bearings? Anyone have pics with dissasembled 320?

It's much thinner than the 300. The flipping action is smooth and feels just about right as far as detent. My ZT 562 has a very strong detent that takes a lot of thumb pressure to overcome, my XM-18 is a bit on the weak side and usually requires a slight wrist flick, this 320 falls right in between em. The flipper tab on the Skyline sticks out .25" when closed, the 320 sticks out .3" which is the same as the ZT 562. I can give it a couple dings, but nothing major...I would like a little more recess opposite of the liner lock so I could get more of my thumb on there to unlock it. Mine currently has a little lock stick and I'd like to be able to get my thumb below that liner gimping until it gets broke in, right now it's tearing my thumb up. Other than that, they could've rounded the bottom of the flipper tab like the 562 so when you reach in your pocket it doesn't scrape the back of your hand.
