After much debate with myself, I have decided to sell the Katana I made for myself. The blade is 600 layers of 1084 and 15n20 damascus with a mild steel core forged in the kobuse style. It was traditionaly clay heat treated and quenched in water and exhibits a wonderfull and active hamon. The blade measures 33". It is well balanced for it's length, as I trained with it in Kenjutsu and Iai-do for three years. It shows almost no wear however. The fittigns are rust blued steel with 24k gold inlays. The handle is traditional silk over same, has two mekugi and the tang runs all the length of the handle. The saya is figured mahogany with Ivory and silver fittings. The only parts I didn't make were the menuki which are from Fred Lohman.

I want to make another katana, so this one must go to justify the time I will spend. I originaly asked $4000 for this piece, but will let it go to a new home for $2000.

Feel free to call me for more details at (903)968-2029.

Thanks,

Less than 2 hrs!! Must be some kind of a record!! Niiice!!! Beautiful contrast of the hamon. Nice cat!!

Gabe,

I was hoping it would go to someone who collects my work. When I first started making knives, my goal was to make a katana. Seven years later, and seven failed blades later, I made this one. It is a true milestone in my career, and I hope you get as much enjoyment from it as I have.

E-mail me off forums and we will work out the details.

Thanks again,

gosh, if I could import swords, I would've taken out a loan for that....

The picture with the cat seems...evil. I hope the cat's still OK...

Beautiful sword too.
